While the high school baseball season is still months away, college baseball is in full swing. For Pleasantville alumnus Zeb Adreon, it’s been a successful start to his senior season with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Through the first nine games, he’s been the starting left fielder for all but one game, and leads the team with a batting average of .313. He’s tie for the team lead with 10 hits, and is tied for the team lead with two doubles on the young season.
He leads the team in on-base percentage at .421, and has now reached base in five straight games. In Iowa’s upset win over #14 Duke on Sunday, Adreon picked up two base hits and drove in a run to help Iowa move to 5-4 on the season.
Adreon and the Hawkeyes have their home opener this afternoon, hosting Grand View at 4:05 p.m. at Duane Banks Field in Iowa City.
