The replacement of the Warren County 911 system will continue throughout the spring and summer months, with this summer having an emphasis on getting the radio towers up and running. 911 Communications Director Doug McCasland tells KNIA News a significant hurdle the department has overcome is just getting the locations of the towers set, and this summer will have construction started.
“We’ve been busy working with vendors to lock down the tower sites, worked well with a lot of the property owners where sites have been identified, and we are in the final stages of getting the lease agreements signed. We are also going through the federal permitting process which has been going very well. We are hoping to break ground on the sites in early to mid summer, with towers in the air in the October/November timeframe, and a final completion date set for June of 2021.”
McCasland also said the project has been a collaborative effort between Warren County Emergency Management, the Warren County Attorney’s Office, and other private entities and he appreciates all of their hard work.
