A Pleasantville football star will be making his mark on the NCAA Division I gridiron next season. Cale Anthony recently signed his letter of intent to play football at Iowa State University, and will be joining the program as a walk-on. He says that joining as a walk-on can seem daunting, but he’s prepared for the challenge and ready to work hard.
“It’s always intimidating being a walk-on because even if I had a scholarship, it’d be scary as a freshman, starting new and not knowing anybody. I’ll just have to be the hardest worker on the field and show them that I can be with the best.”
Anthony plans to compete on the track and field team at Pleasantville before graduation, and will start summer workouts with the Cyclones soon thereafter. Hear the complete signing day interview with Anthony on tonight’s Radio Sports Page at 6:00 p.m. on both KNIA and KRLS.
