Defense was one of the best things about the Twin Cedars Girls Basketball Squad this season. The Sabers allowed only 39.2 points per game. Coach Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports they would change defenses several times during a game, making it difficult for the opponent to run offense.
Verwers:
“We probably ran six defenses and we ran that in one singe game, so it’s tough for a coach to watch film on us and what we’re going to do. So doing that for even a half really throws a team off.”
The Sabers finished 5-18 on the season. Verwers adds if they can get the offense to catch up with the defense they will be a force to reckoned with.
