Pella Police Chief Robert Bokinsky was honored by the Pella City Council for his years of service Tuesday evening. Mayor Don DeWaard read a proclamation thanking Bokinsky for leading the Pella Police Department since January 2012, and the Pella City Council, lieutenants and officers in attendance, and other city staff gave a standing round of applause. Bokinsky says he’s spent his eight years in Pella with an eye on continuous improvement and making sure the Pella Police Department is doing all it can to keep residents safe in their day-to-day lives. The community is invited to celebrate Chief Bokinsky’s service to Pella this Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Pella Public Safety Complex.
