The Indianola City Council and IMU Board of Trustees met in a special joint session earlier this week, discussing upcoming capital projects for both parties. Indianola City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News while the city and IMU are separate entities, obviously there is a lot of overlap in what they want to accomplish and working together can reduce the effect on residents.
“IMU deals with fiber, water, and electric, and the city has sewer and roads, and all of those interact between the two organizations. But we also each have major projects, and we want to make sure those projects are lined up so when we close down a street to do a sewer repair, they aren’t closing it down later on to install something. So we try to get together and make sure we are coordinating and having these discussions.”
