After a 4-1 weekend at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Tucson, Ariz., two Central softball players have earned weekly recognition from the American Rivers Conference. Senior designated player Kaitlyn Andresen was named the conference’s Female Athlete of the Week. She picked up five hits and five RBI’s in the five games in Arizona. One of those was a three-run homer to put the Dutch on top of DePauw, eventually leading to the victory.

Freshman Morgan Schaben was named the league’s softball Pitcher of the Week. Schaben appeared in relief three times, and only gave up one run in 9.2 innings pitched over the weekend. In picking up a 2-0 record, she allowed six hits, walked four and struck out 10 batters.

The 6-1 Dutch are back in action Monday in Leesburg, Fla. as they begin their week of 10 games on their spring break trip.
