Several highlights dotted the Knoxville Boys Basketball Season. Early in the season behind the 41 points from Kieren Nichols, which tied a single game scoring record, the Panthers beat Bondurant-Farrar 72-69 in overtime. Coach Jeff Larson tells KRLS Sports several other highlights made for an enjoyable season.

Larson:
“It was a good game to watch, we scored a lot of points, we came back in overtime to win, and the Grinnell game in Grinnell we beat them pretty handedly, and the Newton game down 16 points and came back to win. We rolled through the first half of the conference and we were 11-3 and sitting really well in the conference.”

In that Newton victory on January fourth, the Panthers outscored the Cardinals 41-22 in the second half. Other highlights included the Panthers final win of the season when freshman Luke Keitges nailed a three pointer just before the buzzer to give Knoxville a win over Fairfield. The Panthers finished the season at 10-12.
