Local businesses and employees could soon feel the impact of a proclamation made by Governor Kim Reynolds as it relates to the spread of COVID-19.
Her announcement Tuesday took significant steps to require social distancing and limit community spread of the virus by implementing temporary measures including moving restaurants to drive-through, carry-out, and delivery only and closures of certain entities such as bars and recreational facilities.
Pella Area Community and Economic Alliance Executive Director Karen Eischen says they intend to be a resource for their members and local businesses, and currently, the organization is working in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration and Iowa Economic Development to gather information about losses to ensure businesses can receive the assistance they need from federal and state programs.
Additionally, Eischen encourages residents to continue supporting local retailers and restaurants by shopping online, ordering carryout, or buying gift certificates.
Additional resources for Pella businesses as it relates to the PACE Alliance can be found at their website, pella.org, and details will be emailed to members about the informational surveys.
