Simpson College has announced that the spring commencement ceremony has been postponed to a later date yet to be determined, and all campus events and on-campus student activities for Spring 2020 have been cancelled. The Simpson College Leadership and Crisis Management Team has also made the decision to close all college housing on March 31st at 8pm for all students other than those with special permission to stay. Interim President Bob Lane states that the two week deadline is to allow students time to move their belongings and to make arrangements for housing, and Simpson is strongly encouraging students who aren’t receiving permission to stay to make other arrangements for housing whenever possible.
