The shut down of spring sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic has no doubt frustrated local track and field coaches and teams. The Knoxville boys were seemingly going to have a solid season with a mix of youth and experience for Coach Eric Kellar. Now unless the guys want to workout on their own away from school, since all schools are closed until at least April 13th, there will be no organized practices until then. Kellar tells KRLS Sports it is disappointing especially for the younger runners and throwers because he sees a lot of potential.

Kellar:
“The potential in them and we started doing drills the other day before this all happened, and you get excited and get shut down, you not going to have an opportunity to work with those guys. Just hope they stay away from places the authorities tell them to stay away from, eat right and stay busy.”

Kellar also feels for his senior who if the season does not start will lose their final season of eligibility.
