The Indianola Community School District provided lunches for district students aged 3-18 at four sites Monday, handing out grab-and-go meals to all who asked. Assistant Superintendent Ron Lorenz tells KNIA News it wasn’t always clear how the district would be able to provide meals, but it was a priority for both the school board and administration from the start to be able to get it done. The lunches will be provided at Emerson and Whittier Elementary from 11:30am-12:30pm, Laura Ingalls Wilder from 11:30am-1:00pm, and Weinman Insurance (311 E 2nd Ave) from 11:30 to 12:30, with the bus located in the Northeast corner of the parking lot. One meal per child will be distributed from school busses parked in designated areas, and are not intended to be consumed on-site.
