With many of the Indianola girls track and field athletes playing other sports during the fall and winter, keeping up with track training isn’t always easy. Head coach Kim Arndt tells KNIA Sports she was proud to have seen many of her athletes keeping in shape even if they weren’t playing other sports, and the ones that were did a good job of keeping in shape.

“We had a lot of excitement coming into the season, we had a really good season last year and a had a lot of kids coming back. We had a lot of ladies who put in a lot of time this winter on their own and were looking for an opportunity to get to show that this spring, and unfortunately right now we aren’t able to do that so I really feel bad for the kids.”

Coach Arndt also said the Indians goal this year was to win the Little Hawkeye Conference, so they are keeping up the hopes that they will get a chance to do so.
