Pella Christian continued the rich tradition of its program, earning a 15th trip to state, and two Eagles earned spots on the All-KNIA/KRLS Boys Basketball first team. Josh Van Gorp was a dominant post player in Class 2A and in the Little Hawkeye Conference, averaging 15.7 points and 10.1 rebounds per game — which was 9th most in Class 2A. He was a 3rd-team All-State selection in Class 2A this past winter, and is a two-time All Little Hawkeye Conference 2nd team honoree.
Eagles Teammate Dan Jungling finished a three-year starting career this past winter. Jungling averaged 12.8 points per game and shot 43 percent on three-pointers, and his 59 makes from deep were 11th most in Class 2A. Jungling was recognized on the Class 2A All-State 3rd team.
Another member of one of the largest senior classes in Pella Christian basketball history, Keean Cadwell is an honorable mention on our list and averaged 9.2 points per game and tallied 96 rebounds for the Eagles, who made their 15th ever state tournament appearance in 2020.
