With area schools closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Knoxville Community School District is doing what they can to help students learn during their break from the classroom. The district is continuing to provide resources for parents and students to use from home to continue with their child’s education. Knoxville Schools Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News all the resources are free and meant to keep children engaged with their learning. She says children are in no way obligated to take part in any learning activities, but the district just wants to give students another opportunity to stay busy during the extended break. The district gives ideas such as a sample day with ideas for parents to help fill the time as well as resources for Pre K through 5th grade and 6th grade through 12th grade. Each week the district updates the resources with more information and tips for staying busy while staying home.
