In accordance with guidelines set by Governor Kim Reynolds, the Pella Community School District will remain closed until April 30th. This includes all district buildings, athletics facilities, and playgrounds. According to Superintendent Greg Ebeling, online education opportunities will remain highly encouraged, but not required. Based on details issued by the Iowa Department of Education, the Pella School District will continue to offer those on a voluntary basis, and no school will have to be made up as a result.

Pella Christian High School and Grade School will also follow this guidance, and on-campus operations will remain suspended through April 30.​ Pella Christian Schools will continue to follow the most recent guidance from government and public health agencies.

Free meals for any child living in the Pella Community School District borders–regardless of school affiliation, will be offered on a weekly basis every Wednesday from 10:30-11 a.m. at Pella High School, Jefferson Intermediate, and Lincoln Elementary, with five days of breakfasts and lunches provided. Registration is not required, but is encouraged at coronavirus.pellaschools.org.
