The Indianola football team has made the playoffs for consecutive years, but the goal of taking the next step of winning a playoff game will be made difficult by facing three top-10 programs next season. Head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA News there is no easy road in class 4A football, and the goal doesn’t change no matter who the Indians face.
“Our goal for many years has not only been to make the playoffs but to win a playoff game, and that has eluded the program since 1986. That was our last and only playoff win here at Indianola. We keep our eye on the prize here, that’s what we want to accomplish. We feel we will be able to do that by playing the difficult schedule, and our difficult opponents will get us ready for that.”
The Indians are coming off of back to back 6-4 seasons with a loss in the first round to an eventual state finalist.
