Marion County representatives and local community leaders including Marion County Public Health Director Kim Dorn, Pella Regional Health Center CEO Bob Kroese, Knoxville Hospital and Clinics CEO Kevin Kincaid, Steve Fopma with Leighton State Bank, Karen Eischen with Pella PACE Alliance and Knoxville Mayor Brian Hatch  gave updates on how the COVID-19 pandemic was affecting the county as well as what they were doing to keep people safe. According to Marion County officials, there are now two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Marion County. The first case is an older resident in the 61-80 year-old range and the second case is someone in the 18-40 year-old range. 

Knoxville Mayor Brian Hatch updated residents on what areas of Knoxville were now closed to the public in addition to what was already closed. According to Mayor Hatch, in response to the new proclamation that Governor Reynolds signed Monday, the City of Knoxville will close the following public facilities until April 30th. The skate park, basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball fields, dog park, and shelter houses will be closed in addition to the currently closed playground areas. The park green space and Competine Trail will be the only areas to remain open. 

Marion County will continue to hold informative press conferences for the foreseeable future with the next scheduled for Friday, April 10th at 1 p.m. Each press conference will be aired live on 92.1 KRLS and 95.3 KNIA and reaired at 6 p.m
