The expectations for the Pleasantville girls track and field program were sky high before the season was supposed to get underway. With many talented returners, the Trojans were expecting to qualify many events for state. Head Coach Aaron Fichter says you’d be hard pressed to find a team that loves it more, and that makes the wait especially tough.
“One of the things that’s so hard about this unknown for us is that this group has been really, really good. They’ve been really solid, they’ve just been super competitive, they love track. They’ve competed well, they’ve done well on the track, and I hate to see this happen for them, knowing that it’s a group that really loves it. So hopefully we get a chance again.”
If the season resumes on May 1st, the Trojans would have meets on May 5th at Van Meter and May 7th at Newton to open the season.
