A decision about the competitive future of a former Pella baseball standout remains in flux, as Grant Judkins awaits a hopeful call to the majors or a return to a program he has called home for the past four years.
Judkins had what was becoming a stellar season as one of the top pitchers for the Iowa Hawkeyes came to an abrupt end after the spread of COVID-19, and while he and fellow seniors have been granted the option to return, “Jud” awaits a potential call in the shortened MLB Draft this summer.
Judkins says regardless of which way he goes, he’s thankful for the time he spent with Coach Rick Heller and his famed “Hellerball,” which has transformed the University of Iowa into a competitive force in the Big Ten.
Grant will be highlighted on tonight’s Radio Sports Page at 6 p.m. on 92.1 KRLS.
