The Indianola School District continues to grow their lunch program during the school shutdown, averaging well over 200 meals given out per day over the last several weeks. While the schools are closed, the lunch program serves as an extension of the summer food program the district has run in the past, which offers any student age 3-18 free lunch, not just students who qualify for a free or reduced lunch. The lunches are provided at Emerson and Whittier Elementary from 11:30am-12:30pm, Laura Ingalls Wilder Elementary from 11:30am-1:00pm, and Weinman Insurance (311 E 2nd Ave) from 11:30 to 12:30, with the bus located in the Northeast corner of the parking lot. One meal per child will be distributed from school busses parked in designated areas, and are not intended to be consumed on-site.
