Expectations are high if the Pella Christian Girls Soccer team finds their way to the soccer pitch in 2020. Head Coach Mike Buchheit says a team with depth, experience, and several contributing senior athletes were poised to make a run at the school’s first-ever girls soccer state tournament appearance.
Buchheit says seniors Anna Van Zee, Emma Dunsbergen, Sydney Hooyer, and Annika Terpstra all intend to play soccer in college, and future Dordt volleyball player Molly Bolt, and seniors Mira Ford, Kennedy Patterson, and Maddy Crile, are all expected to be big parts of the 2020 Eagles, if they play.
That group of seniors, along with juniors Elizabeth and Tessa Brouwer, and Sophomore Avey Amelse, as well as incoming freshman Jocelyn Terpstra, all figured to factor into one of the deepest teams Coach Buchheit has fielded during his six seasons leading the revitalized program that restarted in 2015.
