While the high school spring sports season is on hold, coaches are barred from giving any formal instruction to their student-athletes. However, many schools have developed programs to help their students be prepared for the potential resumption of the season. PCM activities director Greg Bonnett says they have to try to do similar things to what they would have been doing, and it’s still an opportunity to get better.
“The process right now is coming up with adaptive activities to simulate the stuff we were doing, and coming up with new ways to keep everyone engaged. I think the main thing is no matter what sport you’re coaching, now is not the time to lose contact with them. So we’re going to take advantage of this, and I think we have a unique opportunity to get better here.”
As of now, practices are set to start on May 1st, with the first competition on May 4th.
