It was going to be a little different for the Knoxville Girls Tennis Squad this season. Coach Nick DeMoss was looking forward to having a few new faces on varsity due to the graduation of four seniors including two-time state qualifier Alex Griggs…who is currently a member of the Central College Women’s Tennis program. Still with some hope of playing an abbreviated season DeMoss says while new faces will emerge at the top of the order, many familiar players will remain to fill out the roster in both singles and doubles.

DeMoss:
“Alyssa Vaske is returning for us and she played some really good matches in the conference last year. Joselyn McKeever, Naudia Vinsik, and Anna McDonald and Madelyn Liston was playing really good and Regan Little was beginning to step up to be a good doubles player.”

Right now, no one knows how the schedule will look with the adjusted dates set forth by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union should schools be allowed to resume sports on May first. DeMoss is hopeful at least a partial season will be played so none of his players lose a year.
