The Knoxville Community School District has announced that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the high school band trip scheduled for spring break of 2021 has now been postponed one year, to March of 2022. The district says it was best to postpone the trip due to the amount of uncertainty as well as economic hardship felt by many residents. With the registration day looming and first payments to begin for the trip in May, the district felt the payments would just add unnecessary stress and anxiety to an already stressful situation. 

The district also announced that Knoxville High School Band Director Ben McCartney has recently resigned from his position with the district so the school will be looking for a new Band Director and the postponement of the trip will now allow for students and the new band director to get to know each other better before the trip.
