The Indianola School Board looked over the virtual education opportunities for students during the current closing at their most recent meeting, and the district is stressing the importance of students keeping up to date. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News while the work is not required, teachers can factor it in for a final grade.
“We can’t grade during this period, but we can offer feedback and our teachers are skilled at doing that. Then once the closure is over we can look at grading and awarding credit, and we can consider the work that was done during this period. And I want to stress that to parents that this isn’t just busy work or work that means nothing, this really is an important period that we are in.”
Sathoff also said if there are any students or parents of students who may have issues connecting to the internet, to contact the district.
