After several inches of snow fell overnight across the area, travel is expected to be difficult this morning in some areas. Several Iowa DOT plows continue to work this morning across the southern half of Iowa.

Snowfall reports:
Knoxville (KNIA/KRLS) – 5″
Pella (KNIA/KRLS) – 3.5″
Indianola (KNIA/KRLS) – 3.5″

For the second time this week, snowfall accumulated in south central Iowa. Widespread amounts between 1-4″ fell Tuesday night into early Wednesday. Snow melt will occur quickly later this morning as temperatures jump higher above freezing. A return to spring is in the forecast this weekend as temperatures rebound to the upper 50s in the afternoon this Saturday and Sunday with plenty of sunshine.
