Governor Kim Reynolds announced Friday that all schools in Iowa will remain closed through the end of the school year to help prevent the further spread of COVID-19. According to the Knoxville Community School District, the announcement will continue to affect all district programming, including before and after school activities, all athletic and extracurricular practices and competitions, and all weekend events. The district is hoping to be able to reschedule graduation for later this summer, but they do not yet know how that event will look.

The district says they will continue to share information with parents and the community as soon as plans are finalized. According to the district, the last day of school for students is Friday, May 29th. The district will continue with virtual learning until that date. They encourage all families to keep their students engaged in these activities to ensure learning continues to take place through the end of the school year.
