While it is disappointing for Melcher-Dallas and fans that the Saints will not play arch-rival Twin Cedars this fall on the football field, the Saints will get to play another close rival during the season as Southeast Warren visits in week seven. Saints Football Coach Pat Ferguson says the Warhawks and Saints played last year in a JV game and looks forward to playing on the varsity level this fall.
Ferguson:
“We played them last year in a JV game and it was a shootout to the end and at the end everyone shook hands and was laughing. To me that’s what it’s about, play those schools that are 20 minutes away and everyone gets excited about it.”
Southeast Warren has become a local power in the eight-man ranks making the playoffs in 2018 and getting all the way to the semi-finals that season. Last Year Southeast Warren went 7-3.
