The City of Indianola has applied for and been granted a grant for nearly $10,000 to purchase safety equipment for their emergency departments. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the new equipment adds on to a large number of safety precautions the city emergency departments are taking.
“The grant will provide us two new UV Disinfectant machines. This will allow the police and fire departments to disinfect vehicles, equipment, ambulance, etc. We do have one already that our fire department has used extensively over the years. So we applied for and received this grant, which will help the city and save us around $10,000.”
Waller also said he appreciates the work city staff did to apply for this grant and another the city was awarded for the downtown square streetscape project, and their hard work during this tough time should not go unnoticed.
