The Knoxville Community School District will host two virtual meetings via Zoom with the Class of 2020 today. The meetings will allow the Class of 2020 to share their ideas for graduation and additional ways to celebrate their accomplishments as graduations ceremonies continue to be in doubt due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Knoxville Schools Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News this year’s events and the timing may be different but regardless, the district will find a way to honor and recognize the Class of 2020. Pearson says the district has already had conversations with students regarding ideas and she looks forward to what the students and staff can come up with when they collaborate on ideas during the meetings. She asks that the community has patience with the decisions and details of the upcoming events as they continue to coordinate and make sure everything is safe before releasing all the details. The first meeting will be held at 1 p.m. and the second at 7 p.m. For more information and to participate in the meetings contact the Knoxville Community School District.
