pleasantville-3

Tom Wilkins was introduced as the next Pleasantville boys basketball coach last week. Wilkins is set to take over a program that finished .500 last season and in the middle of the pack in the West Central Conference. He’ll inherit a large group of returning players, including eight juniors from this year’s team. Wilkins highlights some of his top talent on next year’s team, and says he’ll bring some different philosophies to the table.

“Aaron Wilkins, my son, coming back from his knee injury, Colby Sandholt got some great experience last year. And then you look at Austin McMillan, Braidy Friday and Jack Perkins who started to get some playing time at the end of the year as well. So a good core coming back. We’ll see how the transition goes. Coach Allman and I have probably different philosophies. Our goal is to make these boys good young men and to win basketball games, but the X’s and O’s change a little bit and little things are tweaked, so we’ll see how that transition goes.”

Pleasantville finished 11-11 this past season. Wilkins is entering his third stint leading the program, having led the Trojans from 2001-2003 and 2009-2015.
