Like a lot of area teams around the state preparing for what they hope is a summer softball season, the Twin Cedars Sabers have also lost a lot of their preseason pitching workouts. Coach Zack Dunkin tells KRLS Sports he got a glance of what his pitching staff could be early in the workouts before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

Dunkin:
“It was still good to get them in there and see how they progressed over the winter. I think we had seen some improvement and got a look at one of the eighth graders and saw how she made some improvement over the winter from what I saw in junior high ball, and it’s just a matter of getting them together to work with the rest of the group.”

Dunkin says now the girls are tasked with working out on their own with either a parent or sibling. He says just throwing and catching is something they can do just to keep the game sharp.
