The Indianola Noon Lions Club donated 300lbs of beef to the Warren County Helping Hand Saturday, after their 90th anniversary celebration and meat raffle was postponed to November. Lions Club chair of the celebration Tom Charlton tells KNIA News the meat was donated by local organizations and companies, and rather than it sitting in a freezer the best course would be to help those in need locally. Executive Director of the Warren County Helping Hand Sue Wilson tells KNIA News local residents will benefit immensely from this generosity.

“It’s so overwhelming because we normally would have to buy meat, and it’s not something that we and our clients get often. But they obviously love it, so we are just so thankful for this donation. I wish they could be there when it gets handed to our clients and see the look at their faces and how much it means to them. Not only was it ground beef, but it was different cuts of steak and roasts, it was just amazing. We are over the top excited that they thought of the Helping Hand to donate to, and we are just as excited to show our clients the quality of food.”
