Even though summer sports happens when school has been let out for the summer…softball and baseball coaches still cannot work with their team as a group even individually due to the school year still being in session with no school. That means players are responsible for getting themselves in game shape for the upcoming season. Twin Cedars Softball Coach Zack Dunkin tells KRLS Sports he has had very limited contact with the players only sending an email to encourage them to work and assume the season will start in June.
Dunkin:
“I haven’t been sending an specific things out, but just trying to encourage them in general and don’t assume we’re not going to play, carry over to that work and being ready for it.”
The Sabers had a dream season last year going 29-9 and winning the Bluegrass Conference. Much of the team is back this season with lofty goals including a run to the state tournament.
