As the country continues to deal with effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Knoxville VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) is doing what they can to make sure veterans in Knoxville and the surrounding communities are staying safe and being taken care of while staying socially distant.

According to the Director of the Central Iowa VA Healthcare System, Gail Graham, the VA has continued to keep tabs on veterans as they stay home and try to stay safe. She says they are continuously reaching out to veterans to make sure they have all their medications and their conditions are stable. Graham says the Knoxville CBOC continues to provide their home based primary care which features a team of providers available to make sure veterans at risk have food and their needs are addressed so the veterans are able to stay home. Graham says she believes local veterans have heeded the advice to stay home, but are also keeping in touch with the VA to keep them up to date on their needs as time goes by.
