The Indianola City Council met in special session Wednesday evening, discussing the city’s participation in the Greater Des Moines Partnership Small Business Recovery Program. The program provides funds for local businesses who weren’t able to secure earlier loans. The council to spend up to $41,389 in the program, however $8,000 will come from private investment and matched by the Greater Des Moines Partnership, with the total funds equaling approximately $49,000. The funds will all stay in Indianola in grants of $1,000-$5,000. The grants are targeted towards small businesses with 30 or less employees within the corporate limits of the City of Indianola.
