While the cancellation of the spring sports season is certainly sad, there are lessons to be learned from the situation. It’s an experience that will allow student-athletes to grow and be stronger in life because of it. Pleasantville girls track and field coach Aaron Fichter says that he believes the hard times his team is experiencing now will be applicable later on in life.

“In time, when you can look back on this eventually, there might be a time in your life when you can use this as some sort of tool for yourself. Use if as something that’s going to help you when you need to share advice with somebody or if you’re going through something and you can say you’ve been down this road before where we have to adapt. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s also something that they can use as experience.”

Seven Trojan seniors will depart the program.
