The City of Indianola’s plan to reopen city buildings to the public has been released, and sets guidelines for what can be opened when. The plan, which is currently in phase one, includes reopening the library, the parks and rec building, city hall, and the streets department while gradually allowing employees to work from the office to eventually full public access. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News there is no firm timetable for the plan, it will just act as a template for the decision making process.
“It’s our best attempt to bring some sort of structure to this otherwise ambiguous and unknown event. If you look at the matrix of the plan, it is divided up into phases and stages, and as we get more information on the environment around us such as the number of cases, what our public health office is saying, what the experts are saying, what he governor is saying, and what the CDC guidelines are, all of that is taken into account. Once we have the information we can then decide what gets open when.”
The phases of the plan can be viewed below.
