Local restaurants who have reopened or are planning on reopening after Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds allowed it should take into consideration their capacity and seating arrangements.
President and CEO of the Iowa Restaurant Association Jessica Dunker tells KNIA News restaurants will require groups of six or less, be at 50% capacity, and at least six feet between other customers among other guidelines, and all self-service is prohibited. Dunker also said the new guidelines on cleaning and disinfecting should be something restaurants are practiced at.

“It’s important to remember restaurants have been safety and sanitation specialists always, because they have to serve food safely. That’s everything from how it’s handled, to sanitation of surfaces, to temperate control. So expanding that even further to an elevated level of sanitation to our customer spaces is something restaurants are prepared to do.”

Dunker also said if any business has questions, they should not hesitate to reach out for more information.
