The Pleasantville boys golf team was looking forward to getting their season underway before the season was suspended and cancelled. The Trojans were a fairly young squad, with only one senior on the team. First-year head coach Chuck Sinclair won’t end up having the chance to see his first season through, but he looks forward to eventually reuniting with the members of the team when social distancing measures are relaxed.

“The guidance was there’s no contact with your spring athletes. Stay in contact via email or video conferencing. Certainly not a coaching aspect, just a morale and welfare checks with the kids. Then, when this ban is lifted, we’ll certainly plan on having our open golf outings on Sunday afternoons. Just excited to get the chance to be with the kids in that aspect.”

A longtime guidance counselor and coach of other sports at Pleasantville, Sinclair will have to wait until next season to officially get the chance to coach the sport of golf.
