The Indianola City Council approved the acceptance of a grant to purchase two UV disinfectant devices, which will be used by the Indianola Public Safety Departments. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News it is an item that has become more popular during the COVID-19 pandemic, and one the city is familiar with.
“We’ve got one here now that our fire department uses quite a bit, and this will be deployed for both police and fire. This came from a federal grant, and it will allow us to disinfect our vehicles and various types of equipment to make sure we have as clean an environment as possible and keep our personnel safe.”
Waller also said he appreciates the hard work of the staff and public safety team for bringing the grant to the city.
