The Marion County Treasurer’s Office has announced they are once again able to offer driver’s license appointments. The appointments are currently limited as the office continues to take their responsibility towards the community and staff very seriously during the COVID-19 pandemic. Marion County Treasurer Michaela Bigaouette tells KNIA/KRLS News some of the guidelines in place for anyone wanting to make a drivers license appointment include only one adult per appointment. Bigaouette asks that people who make an appointment do not come more than five minutes early and do not show up more than five minutes late or the appointment will need to be rescheduled. She ask that residents remember to keep essential workers in mind when making their appointment and to help keep people with CDLs out on the road.
Bigaouette says residents can also go to www.iowadot.gov as there are still several services that can be done online including permit tests that can now be proctored at home by parents. The site allows for minors to upgrade their license, address changes, and 21 year olds can get their horizontal license as well.
