The cancelled spring sports season has had major consequences for several area athletes. For the Melcher-Dallas Girls Track and Field Squad several events were primed to contend for a spot at the State Meet. Senior Kaylee Maeschen was hoping the 4×400 relay team was hoping to cut off enough time to run at the Blue Oval. She also was hoping to improve in her individual events to possibly contend for conference titles.
Maeschen:
“I wanteds to improve on my times on my 400s and try my 800s again this year. Our 4×4 was really close to making it to state, I’m not sure exactly how much but it was really close, and this year we wanted to cut off times for senior year. We wanted to cut off our times to make it to state.”
Maeschen’s best 400 individual time in the open 400 last season was 1:19.92. Listen for a full interview with Maeschen in an upcoming Radio Sports Page Wednesdays at 6:00pm on KNIA.
