During the most recent Marion County COVID-19 Press Conference Friday, Knoxville Mayor Brian Hatch informed residents of certain city facilities that will be reopening over the next few weeks. According to Mayor Hatch, Knoxville City Hall will reopen to the public on June 1st by appointment only. Along with City Hall, Mayor Hatch tells KNIA/KRLS News other facilities will reopen June 1st include the Knoxville Recreation Center to include cardio and weight room and pool, along with the city dog park, basketball courts, ball fields, and tennis courts. He says the city asks that anyone using the facilities continue to practice social distancing and follow the recommendations of the CDC.
In addition to the reopening of some city facilities, Mayor Hatch also announced that the Knoxville Public Library will open June 1st but with limited hours. The library will only be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. He says the library will continue to provide curbside pickup for the people who are not comfortable coming into the library.
