Pella’s track and field coaches were featured as part of the Iowa Track Coaches Association “virtual” meet podcasts held over the weekend.

Boys Head Coach Brent Van Hauen was part of a panel of coaches from across the state in a discussion of the 3A boys meet, moderated by Pella Assistant Randy Wilson, and Dak Rasmussen did the same for the girls class.

Both features had the top coaches in Iowa come together to predict what may have happened after this past weekend’s state meet was cancelled along with the rest of spring sports in mid-April. Consensus from both discussions — based on returning athletes in key races and events, as well as any standouts from the shortened indoor season, had both Pella’s boys and girls in the mix for a top five, and potentially top three finishes.
