The Knoxville Baseball Squad last season struggled in many areas and one was pitching. The Panthers were unable to consistently get strikeouts and fell behind in several of their games. The Panthers also committed 117 errors, which was the most in the conference. First year Coach Turner Devore tells KRLS Sports the fielding percentage must improve to help out the pitchers.
Devore:
“We don’t have a lot of guys that strike people out. We were around 860 fielding percentage last year and we need to be around 900 to be successful.”
Devore adds he wants his pitchers to work faster in getting the pitch off to the catcher getting the ball back and ready for another pitch. Knoxville is set to start the season on June 16th at Bondurant-Farrar.
