There will be two outfield positions that need to be filled before Monday’s Knoxville Softball season opener. Center field and left field are open due to graduation last season. The only outfielder that returns is Charlie Vermeer and Coach Carla Smith says the outfield is wide open as to who will get the start next week.

Smith:
“A few eighth graders could be filling spots for some of the upperclassmen out in the outfield as well. I’m not sure at this point how that’s going to look. We’ll take it one week at a time and field the best team we can.”
