The Indianola City Council discussed new housing developments at their most recent meeting, including a voluntary annexation request. Indianola City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the annexation request is for an area northwest of the city limits for 70 acres of land located south of Inwood Street, west of 110th Avenue (North Y Street) and east of County Highway R-63. Waller also said planning and zoning as well as council were in favor of the annexation for the development.

“The council approved the request to annex the land in, a voluntary annexation into the city. So the next step the council will set up a public hearing for that ground and we will hear input from the public and have the council make a decision on what the zoning of that ground will be.”

The Indianola Comprehensive Plan, Elevate Indianola, includes a priority on new residential growth and housing developments.
