All three sprint car classes will run at the Knoxville Raceway tonight as the second weekly points show is set to take the green flag. Following last week’s World of Outlaws racing, where all weekly 410 drivers received show up points. One 410 driver who is running for Rookie of the Year honors is Hunter Schuerenberg. He drives for the Vermeer Motorsports entry and Schuerenberg tells KNIA Sports he is not so concerned about looking at the points race as he is just winning a race this season.
Schuerenberg:
“I’ve never been a huge points racer, I just want to go to Knoxville every time there’s a race there and win there. I feel if we just concentrate on winning, the points will take care of themselves.”
The 360s are led early on by defending champion Carson McCarl, and the Pro Sprints look to be a good battle between three drivers. Russ Hall, Chase Young, and Matthew Stelzer are within 20 points of each other after the first week of competition.
